Take the JR trains from Tokyo to Nagano then bus from Nagano to Hakuba. You can look up the JR trains timetable using google map.
Nagano to Hakuba

You can get the bus from Nagano to Hakuba (from Nagano Station, bus stop 26), which is relatively regular. You do not need to book or reserve the tickets, you can buy the ticket
on the bus and they accept cash only.
Hiring a Car
Hiring a car from Nagano is a good option where you can save the bus trip from Nagano to Hakuba whilst having the convenience of a car while staying in Hakuba. There are many car hire companies in Nagano that are close to Nagano station. Please google search ‘Nagano car rental’.
Traveling around in Hakuba
Wadano Forest Hotel Shuttle Service
Our hotel shuttles service is available in the morning (7-9:30am) and afternoon (3-7pm) on a regular basis in a loop route between our hotel, Hakuba Gondola Apartment (Happo Gondola station) and Happo Bus Terminal. Between 10am-3pm there is no shuttle service except for guests arrival pickup only.
Free Village Shuttles
There is also a regular free village bus that takes people to different ski resorts that goes in front of our hotel. Please check the timetable or obtain the QR code at our hotel reception.
Free Night Taxi in Hakuba
A free mobile apps that you can download and book the rides. The service will start from around 18-20 Dec to 29 Feb. Please obtain the QR code at our hotel reception when you check in.
Taxi
We can also call or pre book the taxi for you for trips that are outside our service time and service range. Please request at the reception.
Supermarket
There are 2 supermarkets in town, BIG AEON supermarket about 15 mins drive away or A-coop that is 5 mins drive away. Our free hotel shuttle will only take guests to the A-coop supermarket, this service is only available to our apartment guests only.

Ski Hire
There are many ski hire shops in town. All the ski rental shops will come and pick you up and drop you off with your gears after fitting as a complimentary service. At the end of the hire period, they will come and collect your hired gears from our ski room or from your apartment.

Centra Snow Sport
For season 2024-25 Central Snowsports will continue to operate all three stores, Happo, Koharu and Echoland. They will all offer Guest Shuttles and full service to all guests. The Guest Shuttles will continue to collect from Happo Bus Station and Hakuba Train Station for online pre-booked guests.

Fireworks show over the Olympic Ski Jump every Saturday night till Feb 10 and will close with a grand finale of the annual Hakuba Fire Festival the following weekend (TBC).
